Las Vegas Metro Calling For Tougher Regulations Of Hookah Lounges In Clark County

Commissioners had concerns regarding establishing such an ordinance

Investigators shared findings of what they discovered at the Clark County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.

Prostitution, gambling, and drugs are just some of the illegal activities happening at many of the 60-plus lounges in the county.

“Many times, they are advertising as nightclubs, they are advertising admission fees, bottle service, live entertainment, dancing girls,” said one Metro investigator.

Violence was also a topic of discussion. Authorities said hookah lounges had been the sites of many deadly crime scenes. Investigators mentioned Manny’s Glow Lounge, where at least 15 people were shot, and one person was killed earlier this year. Police later learned the business was operating out of its scope.
