Texas Can Implement Its Smokable Hemp Ban For Now, Court Rules
A final ruling is still pending in a lawsuit
New state rules that ban smokable hemp can take effect for now, a court ruled June 5.
The rules include a total THC test that would see smokable hemp products removed from shelves, as well as increased licensing and registration fees for manufacturers and retailers.
These rules are the subject of a lawsuit brought against the state by the organization Texas Hemp Business Council.
“We understand this development creates uncertainty for many Texas hemp businesses,” the Texas Hemp Business Council said in a statement on social media.
