Our Guide To CHAMPS Atlantic City

The award-winning trade show returns to The Garden State

CHAMPS Trade Shows, having just come off a record shattering CHAMPS Summer Show in Las Vegas, looks forward to CHAMPS Atlantic City as their triumphant return to The Garden State begins next Tuesday at the Atlantic City Convention Center.

The northeast holds a special place in our hearts as CHAMPS Atlantic City is easily one of the best regional shows on the schedule. With hundreds of vendors showing their latest wares and The Glass Games bringing live glass blowing as artists compete for their spot in the Masters Finals, this years CHAMPS Atlantic City is looking to be bigger than ever.

Since our last show in 2019 a lot has happened in New Jersey. As an example, earlier this year adult-use cannabis was made legal in both New Jersey and New York. You can expect the tri-state to grow leaps and bounds over the next couple of years as a result of the landmark decision. Now half-way through 2021, CHAMPS Trade Shows Atlantic City returns from August 31st – September 2nd.

We here at CHAMPS Smoke Shop report want to make sure you are always in the know on the latest happenings at CHAMPS Trade Show events and as such have this handy guide to make sure you are ready to rock the second you hit the show floor.

First and foremost however we want to make sure we thank our sponsors for making CHAMPS Atlantic City possible.

Believe It or Not:

The first Ripley’s Believe It or Not!! odditorium was unveiled at the Chicago World Fair in 1933 to showcase the strange, the weird, and the unbelievable. The first permanent odditorium went up in 1950 in St. Augustine Florida where it still operates today. As glassblowers regularly stretch the limits of imagination, we want to see them take it even further in this classic oddity competition. Artists are going to think of something strange that belongs in the “Boro Believe It or Not”. This is an all day competition with the top 3 walking away with cash prizes. Only 1st place however advances to the Masters Finals next year.

Ride It:

This one is all about riding! From skateboards to bikes, from motorcycles to cars, and everything in-between, the competitors will need to come up with creative interpretations of what they think when they hear the phrase ‘Ride It’. This will be a 3.5 hour game in which the top 3 will walk away with cash prizes. 1st and 2nd place will advance to the Masters Finals next year.

When it comes to functionality, glassblowers always know best. In this competition, entrants will work towards creating their very own custom ‘Swiss Army Knife’ of pipes. Each piece has to be of several different pipes, same or different styling, all connected to create one intricate piece. Contestants will be given 3.5 hours to complete their piece with the top 3 in this category walking away with cash prizes. Only 1st and 2nd place will advance to the Masters Finals next year.

When one thinks of design usually the first thing to come to mind is colors. Eliminate that, and you are left with pure creative conceptualization. In this particular competition, participants will be given exactly 3.5 hours to create the most intricate piece that you can see through with the top 3 in this category taking cash prizes. Only 1st and 2nd place will advance to the Masters Finals next year.

As anyone who has heard the LMFAO song knows, taking a shot is a pretty popular way of drinking. But how popular is your shot glass? Artists will be given an hour and a half time limit to complete a 4″ high and 44mm around concept of what they think is the ultimate shot glass. The top 3 in this category will walk away with cash prizes but only 1st place advances to the Masters Finals next year.
