Florida Lawmakers Propose Big Changes To Delta 8
House Bill 679 would close the loophole for Delta 8
There are more than 100 compounds found in the cannabis plant including CBD which doesn’t get you high. Delta 9 THC is the compound that does get you high and to legally get it in Florida you must be a medical marijuana patient.
Then there’s Delta-8 THC which has gained a lot of popularity recently. It has very slight psychoactive effects, however, it is not regulated and you can find it for sale in smoke shops or gas stations.
Republican Spencer Roach and Democrat Andrew Learned are proposing some big changes to the cannabis compounds.
Their 48 page House Bill 679 has support for democrats and republicans and it does several things. It raises the age from 18 to 21 to buy CBD products and Delta 8 products. It also makes the process of getting medical marijuana cheaper and easier. Finally, it closes the loophole on Delta 8.
