The Windy City awaits CHAMPS first ever show in the Midwest
Anticipation is building as CHAMPS looks towards the Midwest for CHAMPS first ever show in the region next week. And, as luck would have it, earlier this year the Illinois General Assembly passed HB-1438 legalizing recreational marijuana’s use and sale within the state.
Governor JB Pritzker followed suit by quickly signing the bill into law on June 25th, thus Illinois became the 11th state in the United States to legalize full adult use cannabis. Now, anyone in the Land of Lincoln who is 21 and older can now possess up to 30 grams of cannabis flower, 5 grams of concentrate and 500 milligrams of THC in products such as edibles on their person. According to a report by the Brightfield Group, cannabis sales in Illinois along with other Eastern states are expected to grow with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 105% by 2023. That’s nearly double the size of Canada’s CAGR over the same period.
With numbers like that, it’s no wonder that Chicago is abuzz with greenrush fever making it the perfect time to launch CHAMPS in the Windy City. . Buyers who are looking to network, or find the perfect items for their store from respected distributors, need look no further than CHAMPS Trade Shows which will be opening its doors at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago on Oct. 29th. The show runs through Oct. 31st.
Attendees of CHAMPS Chicago will also get to enjoy a treat they may never have experienced from a counter-culture trade show before as the CHAMPS Glass Games presents its final installment prior to the Masters Finals in Las Vegas. Artists are being asked to choose one of two competitions, either “Sports” or “Halloween”, to show off their talents and fight for their spot in the Masters Finals this coming February where they will be competing in live glass blowing against more than 40 artists right on the show floor.
