ScottsMiracle-Gro Transfers Cannabis Subsidiary To Focus On Core Lawn And Garden Business

The company created The Hawthorne Collective in 2021

Ohio-based ScottsMiracle-Gro is transferring its wholly owned cannabis subsidiary, The Hawthorne Collective, to an unnamed independent strategic partner, the lawn and garden company announced April 10.

The company created The Hawthorne Collective in 2021 to invest in areas of the cannabis industry not pursued by its Hawthorne Gardening Company subsidiary, which focuses on cultivation supplies such as lighting, nutrients and other materials for cannabis growers and hydroponic cultivators.

Included within The Hawthorne Collective’s holdings are investments in Fluent, previously Cansortium, a vertically integrated cannabis company with licenses and operations in Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas and New York.
