A South Boston Smoke Shop Owner And An Employee Illegally Sold Cannabis To Undercover Officers, Police Say

The pair are facing charges after detectives investigated

The owner and an employee of a South Boston smoke shop are facing charges after undercover police Monday bought marijuana joints being sold illegally at the store and seized dozens of bags of edibles, authorities said.

King Smoke Shop owner Tanveer Shah, 61, of Bellingham, and Saqib Imran, 38, of Brockton, were arrested following numerous complaints from the neighborhood about the allegedly illicit business, according to a statement from Boston police.

Detectives and drug control units decided to investigate the claims and ultimately bought marijuana while inside the store, officials said.
