New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is once again making it clear to New Yorkers—he is serious about legalizing recreational marijuana in 2021.
Cuomo wants to enact the cannabis regulation and taxation act, regulating and controlling the production, distribution, transportation and sale of cannabis and cannabis products.
In his address Tuesday, he says it’s best to include in the budget.
Cuomo says legalizing recreational marijuana and including it in the budget will bring in $20 million in 2021, and $63 million in 2022.
