Canopy Growth’s First U.S. Retail Partnership To Bring BioSteel CBD For Sports Line To ~500 Vitamin Shoppe Locations

BioSteel, a nutrition company co-founded by former NHL pro Michael Cammalleri, recently got into the cannabis space after Canadian behemoth Canopy Growth (CGC) acquired a majority stake in the company in 2019 – with the intent to pursue a strategic partnership to co-develop CBD products.
After a relatively quiet soft launch for the first few products in the line (Protein Powder, Sugar-Free Protein Gum, Hydration Mix and Sport Collagen), BioSteel and Canopy Growth will announce their first significant brick and mortar retail partnership stateside on Monday.
According to information procured exclusively ahead of a press release, the companies have struck a deal with The Vitamin Shoppe, which will now offer the new products line, BioSteel CBD for Sport, across nearly 500 brick and mortar locations in the U.S. This is Canopy Growth’s first retail partnership in the U.S.
