Cannabis Paraphernalia Companies Are Taking a Hit From Tariffs

If there’s any business untouched by the U.S.-China trade dispute, it should be the cannabis industry. None of that stuff crosses the border, right?

As it turns out, our tiff with China affects even the cannabis trade. Ironically, the companies hurt are those that carefully avoid touching the still federally illegal weed.

One is KushCo Holdings (ticker: KSHB), a fast-growing company based in Garden Grove, Calif., that supplies cannabis producers with packaging, chemicals, and vaping hardware. It trades over the counter.

While its sales rose 39% sequentially in the quarter ended February, KushCo’s stock sold off this year as gross margins shrank under the weight of tariffs (and some other hopefully temporary glitches).
