AriZona Beverages Founder Eyes Move Into CBD
“We are always open to new ideas”
The founder of AriZona Beverages has revealed in a Reddit interview that he is considering entering the CBD drinks sector.
Don Vultaggio told an online audience in Reddit’s Ask Me Anything discussion yesterday the company is exploring the CBD opportunity but that he is unsure of where the trend is going. “We are always open to new ideas,” said Vultaggio, a former beer delivery driver who started AriZona in 1992.
In the wide-ranging interview, Vultaggio also said AriZona will get into the coffee sector “soon” and that he has fended off numerous offers from bigger companies to buy his iced tea beverage business.
“We’ve been approached many times by large companies to be bought out,” Vultaggio said. “On one occasion, the president of a company came to tell me they wanted to buy me out and I said I’m not for sale. He said: ‘Well then, I’ll just have to rip your heart out”. I said: ‘You better bring some of your friends because I’m going to put up a fight’. That was over a decade ago.”
