Maximize 420 Sales At Your Smoke Shop Pt. 2 – After The Storm

Now that the dust has settled, let’s maximize your sales data

A couple of weeks ago we discussed the ways you can pre-prep your smoke shop or dispensary for the largest holiday in the cannabis industry. With data trickling in one thing is definitely clear. 420 sales, even during the pandemic, have grown year-over-year to astronomical proportions.

Now that the dust has settled, we’d like to take a look at how to maximize your final sales for 420 and keep the customers who visited your shop for the first time.

RANDOMLY GIVE AWAY FOLLOW-UP PRIZES TO NON-WINNING RAFFLE TICKETS

One of the great things about entering a raffle and being disappointed that you lost, is randomly winning something after it’s left your mind. Yes, you read that right. Randomly winning something a couple of days, or even a couple weeks later can turn a one time entrant into a loyal customer and people who thought “well there is no chance”, will begin to re-think their possibilities.

You don’t have to give away huge prizes to these follow-up prizes like a custom piece from a Glass Games winner, but a “runner-up” prize pack of a couple packs of papers and a lighter goes a long way towards maximizing value from the raffle you ran.

Another thing you can do if you have a built-in loyalty program in your POS, is to randomly pick your top customer of each month and simply give them a prize as the “Customer of the Month”.

ENTER USER DATA FROM RAFFLE ENTRIES INTO YOUR CRM

Raffles serve multiple purposes, one of which is it drives data that allows you to do marketing for future promotions. But you can’t do that future marketing without first taking each of those raffle tickets and entering that data into whatever CRM you use for your business.

A CRM system, or Customers Relationship Management system, is the way you manage business relationships and the data related to those relationships. CRM Systems such as Hubspot or Salesforce, help your business advance those relationships through connecting pieces of data to give you a better overall picture of things. Making sure you assign an employee (or yourself) time to digitize that data and put it to use is imperative to maximizing your sales data and being able to capture additional sales throughout the summer.

FOLLOW-UP ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Sometimes with sales and raffles, those who didn’t participate aren’t able to contextualize what they didn’t win/save by going to your store. This is the reason for promoting your winners and pictures from your store on 4/20 on social media in the days following 4/20. Your next chance for re-capturing these hold-outs will be 7/10, so make sure to promote heavily this week and next in order to draw in new captures 4th of July weekend and the week leading up to 7/10.

The best way to follow-up is to highlight your top raffle giveaways once per day, after 4/20 week, start doing minor follow-up giveaways that people must follow your account plus show up in-person to win.

You can leverage these winners for your social media for some time, but don’t forget to keep it fresh with new promotions leading up to 7/10.
